High-speed motors have different characteristics from conventional motors in rotor strength, rotor system dynamics, electromagnetic design, cooling system design, temperature rise calculation, and high-speed bearing development. Compared with the constant-speed motor, the rotor system of the high-speed motor is more likely to approach the critical speed. In order to avoid bending resonance, the rotor strength must be adjusted and improved according to the critical speed of the rotor system.
