Loading dock levelers can be divided into electro-hydraulic, pneumatic, and manual mechanical dock levelers in terms of power. No matter which type of dock leveler is used, it is for smooth and effective delivery of goods to the carriage or quick unloading of goods.
So, how do we design the pit when we buy the loading dock leveler and how do we put it into the pit reliably to realize the interaction between the leveler and the pit?
Steps of pit making
Install the loading dock leveler
Fixed the loading dock leveler
Welding fixation shims
Connect the power to debug
First of all, communicate with the professional manufacturer in advance, then excavate of pit location, pouring of cement, pre-burying of angle iron, and pre-burying of pipes. The pit is used to unload the dock leveler equipment, and its size is slightly larger than the size of the equipment. For the specific dimensions of the pit, it is necessary to determine the dimensions of the dock leveler with multiple loads. Considering the use and installation of the wall and the dock leveler, it is necessary to reserve anti-collision blocks on both sides of the pit. The thickness of the anti-collision blocks should be moderate or not too thick, which will affect the adjustment of the up and down distance.
After the pit is completed, it is time to install the dock leveler. First, fork the dock leveler from the front to the forklift, and then put the leveler into the pit. At this point, the level of the dock leveler should be about 1 cm lower than the pit. This is to control the error when the pit is made. The lower still is 1 cm, with metal washers to hold the overall equipment in place.
After putting the loading dock leveler into the pit, lift the leveler from the gap on both sides with a crowbar to make the leveler flush with the ground, and use the electric welding machine to weld the tail of the leveler to the reserved angle iron of the pit to fix it. The length of the welding seam is generally required to be 150-200mm with an interval of 100mm, the power of the electric welder should be adjusted by the welder himself.
After the loading dock leveler is fixed, shims should be placed at the contact between the leveler, and the pit for welding fixation and the wiring of the control box should be completed.
The temporary power supply should be connected for debugging after the wiring is completed, and the last anti-collision block can be installed after the platform is confirmed to be in normal use. After the whole installation is completed, the installation site should be cleaned up, and guide the site users to use the loading dock leveler, usually paying attention to maintenance.
